Silk faille & gazar

Patterns originate three-dimensionally upon the tailor form rather than flat paper. Heavy silk gazar and double-faced faille are pinned along the bias to establish balance between downward gravity and tensile lift.
Concealed steel boning channels and spiral stays construct an autonomous foundation, liberating the outer textile to cascade without domestic corsetry constraints.
Three Stages of Precision
Anatomical Calico Toile
Structural Sub-Frame
Final Textile Synthesis
The client silhouette is drafted into raw cotton calico. Three successive fittings calibrate drape, apex positioning, and shoulder balance to absolute physiological precision.
The internal armature is constructed using English spiral steel, silk organza underlining, and hand-bound horsehair canvas to anchor volume without visible exterior seams.
Primary silks are draped, hand-padded, and pick-stitched over the finished cage. Raw edges receive miniature rolled hems finished with single-filament silk thread.
Volume must be articulated through deliberate internal structure, never through decorative surface distraction.
